Asset Management Landscape
Version 2 (English , French and Chinese)
The Asset Management Landscape is a tool to promote a common global approach to Asset Management. It includes a number of conceptual models, a list of 39 Asset Management Subjects and Principles and a framework for describing best practices, maturity and standards. Two important purposes for the GFMAM Asset Management Landscape are to provide:
- the structure for building a body of knowledge for certification schemes and qualifications in asset management,
- the structure (and potentially the criteria) for assessing an organization.
Auditor Assessor Specification
This document recommends baseline requirements for the Asset Management knowledge and understanding that an ISO assessor or auditor should have.
GFMAM members will be recommending to asset owners that they apply55001 this specification for internal assessors and require any external auditors to provide demonstrable evidence of this knowledge and understanding.
Maintenance Framework
This document is intended to be used by Global Forum members and the Maintenance and Asset Management communities to provide:
Asset Management Maturity
Asset Management Maturity is the extent to which the capabilities, performance of an organisation provide assurance that it is fit for purpose to meet the current and future needs of its stakeholders, including the ability of an organisation to foresee and respond to its operating context.
This document defines the key principles of Asset Management maturity. This position statement is not limited to the stages encountered on the way to meeting ISO 55001 requirements – it looks beyond compliance with ISO 55001 and considers the characteristics that organisations would exhibit at higher levels of maturity.
Criteria for Evaluating Asset Management Indicators (NEW)
This document reports how we identified a methodology for validating whether an indicator is relevant and specific to Asset Management. This methodology considers the 39 Subjects of Asset Management (reference: The Asset Management Landscape - Second Edition, GFMAM) as well as the 9 Benefits of Asset Management highlighted in ISO55000 (ISO 55000: 2014 Asset management - Overview, principles and terminology, pages 1-2).
Online Tool for Evaluating Asset Management Indicators (NEW)
The tool is provided by the GFMAM free of charge - an invitation for practitioners to engage in an ongoing project to develop and assess relevant Asset Management metrics. The project team will analyze and publish report(s) of the collated data on a periodic basis with the goal of continuously improving the tool and advancing the global discussion on the relevance of various Asset Management indicators.
GFMAM Guidance for an Asset Management System Scheme for Accredited Certification to ISO 55001 (NEW)
This document is intended as a reference to be used by Accreditation Bodies (AB) for ISO 55001.
Accreditation Schemes are nominally developed and administered by individual Accreditation Bodies though they may collectively agree to utilise or mandate common Schemes.
GFMAM Projects
Since the GFMAM was created, several projects on Maintenance and Asset Management are finalized and others are under development. Some projects have been identifed of major importance to the profession
